The trigger is a little tricky, I think it's bad etiquette to pull a trigger on any gun unless there is a dummy round or snap cap in place. Check the operation of the safety - mine still crisply snaps into position even though it is decades old. Inspect the bolt face, firing pin, extractor. Look at the overall condition of the stock and barrel exterior, check rifling (take a borelight with you), operation of the bolt, condition of the crown.
